Daily Draw

Daily Draw Monday, 19 December 2016 Method: Anglo-Saxon Runes Rune Drawn: Ior This rune means Beaver. The Anglo-Saxon Rune Poem verse for this rune is: Beaver is a river fish although it always takes Food on land, it has a fair abode Surrounded with water, where it lives in happiness. Some think the rune means a water snake, but the symbol itself suggests a 4 legged animal with head and tail and beavers do make a “fair abode.” As we enter our 4th or 5th day of non-stop rain and there is water all around, it is quite an appropriate rune. I have no choice but to try and carry on, though my wardrobe is depleted without the chance to get anything washed and dried. I have little to complain about with many others being flooded and at least one person swept to his death. Beavers are busy creatures and I am reminded of the Odinist noble virtue of industriousness. I must keep busy today. Although I must go out to buy food, home is where I will be happiest today. Like the beaver I should attend to domestic matters.
