Method: Le Tarot Noir.
Card Drawn: Roy De Deniers
The King of Coins is looking relaxed on his throne which appears to be standing on a ploughed field, there are a couple of new shoots poking through. The body seems to look to the present and the feet pointing towards the future while he looks to the past, his gaze fixed on a coin which is hanging in the air. I interpret this as looking back on mistakes I’ve made financially and materially and these mistakes are dwelt on with much regret, this makes me fearful of any financial or material undertaking at the present moment. My new photographic business is launched with fear of failure present in my mind. Although I can take some hope from the ploughed field and the new shoots. The seeds are sewn for the future. The coin in the Kings hand is held almost nonchalantly, as is forgotten about. I think this means that although I’ve made big mistakes and lost a lot of money, it wasn’t my fault and I still have something. The future is uncertain and I seem reluctant to face it. Should I be like this King and sit back doing nothing? No, I don’t think so, I should take stock and move on, continue sewing the seeds.
