The characteristics of this Queen are adaptability, persistent energy and calm authority. Generous but impatient of opposition and she has immense capacity for friendship and love but on her terms. This is “She who must be obeyed.” I think the Queen in this card fits that bill. She is in a strong position with an overgrown wand which is sprouting a couple of leaves, promising new life and renewal. The cat reminds me of the Goddess Freyja. She cautions me against taking risks, to be on the defensive and remain vigilant. This Queen is ruled by Aries. A fire sign of course but combined with the Queens element of water, produces a lot of heat and is a strong character with plenty of energy to burn. She’s impulsive, impatient, impetuous and brazen, with a warrior spirit and can take direct, aggressive action, exactly like Freyja. The Queen of Wands rules the third decan of Pisces as well as the second and third decans of Aries. In the horoscope, her primary domain is the first house of self-identity and self-expression.
