Daily Draw Wednesday, 19 October 2016 Method: Ogham Ogham Drawn: Straif – Blackthorn Ogham phrases: Increasing of Secrets – Strongest of Red. Strife. Last drawn on Saturday, 24 January 2015, Wednesday, 16 September 2015 and Saturday, 26 December 2015. There is nothing like a blackthorn staff. Even Woden had one. It can form an impenetrable barrier, like some people, so it is concerned perhaps with being on the defensive, on the other hand it is used in the making of the Irish shillelagh, not a particularly subtle weapon but effective, so attack being the best form of defence comes to mind. One of the more beneficial aspects of this shrub is its gift of a fruit used in the making of sloe gin and jam. Increasing of Secrets advises me to do the same. I must watch out for opinionated outbursts, which I am prone to once provoked or angry words. Best to just shut up today. I need to consider the harm that can be done, or upset being caused. It suggests that now isn’t a good time to start something new but what I am trying to do is no longer new, perhaps I shouldn’t try any new approaches to it just yet.
