Daily Draw Friday, 14 October 2016 Method: Tarot De Vieville. Card Dawn: Eight of Swords. This card suggests I look at the complexity of my relationship with others and indeed with the world. Sometimes it’s difficult to get the balance right, some days easier than others. Understanding my place in the world and within the cosmos together with the paradox that it is both complex yet simple at the same time. In these days of war and mass killings and of manipulation by governments and worse, I tend to wonder what the place was in the cosmos for all those slaughtered, not just humans but animals too for human consumption and greed. This card asks me though to look at the solidity and fragility of myself and mankind as the microcosm of the universe. To consider this card as an opening into the spiritual world where I can ponder the development of my consciousness. An esoteric meaning of this card is as a symbol of the vagina of the mother of the world, the macrocosm that gives birth to the microcosm. On a philosophical level, it is “Know Thyself” An introspection that allows understanding.
